No actual published data on Kimber Serial numbers. They run all over the place as they appear to have held blocks of numbers for later use. Also each model variation had their own serial number range that more or less started at 00001 so you could conceivably have the same S/N more or less for each variation. 22 Rimfire Classic was just Numbers Custom Classic was CCxxxxx SuperAmerica was SAxxxxx S-Series was S001-500 thru S500-500 ( for the 500 in the series) with an additional 35 with other numbers 22 mag Classis was Mxxxxx SuperAmerica was SAMxxxxx and so on.22 Hornet was Hxxxxx, SAHxxxx and so on. A better indication of time frame for your rifle would be which action is has. 82, 82B, or 82C.

Many have worked for the company but few lasted more then three years.those who did know an awful lot of information that is still not mined. I can tell you that my rifle has the S/N 533XX and it was made in July of 1987. I have a non typical Kimber. Officially it is listed as a Mini Classic with a wrap checkering pattern on the forend and grip. Unofficially it also has a 18 oz trigger, island rear one leaf sight, and a banded front ramp sight.
